06/23/13 – Still Hanging Outside of Las Vegas

We woke up today to chanting – but from this odd “Temple of the [something]” that we encountered last night.  Once again, we couldn’t make out what they were chanting, but we did hear applause.  We just started out about our normal routine, took a shower, and headed towards town.

We decided to head to Lake Mead and spend part of the day there.  I knew it was a pretty large area, but I didn’t have any idea of how large it actually would be.  We got into the park and actually had to leave to fill up the gas tank, then we came back.  We drove from the Boulder Beach, where we swam yesterday, to Callville Bay.  When we saw that there was no swimming there, but only a huge marina, we turned back and headed to Boulder Beach.  At Boulder Beach, we set up my hammock and Molly cut up a watermelon that she had bought earlier.  We were only able to eat half of it – the other half is currently stuffed inside the cooler.  We made our way back to the campsite a little earlier today – around 5:30 or so, and got our own campsite off of a different road.  It’s a bit windy, but we were still able to heat up some soup on the propane stove and have a scrumptious dinner.

Sorry our lives aren’t more exciting right now – I think we are about to have a much-needed break when we get to the hotel, and just kind of take it easy for a few days.
