Offroading

I bought a 1998 Toyota 4Runner in February of 2014 for $5,000.  It has a unique combination of relatively rare options: it’s a 5-speed manual and comes with the factory rear E-locker.  When I bought it, it was completely stock.  Over time, I have performed the following modifications:

Interior / Accessories
  • Center console from 99+ 4Runner
  • Tacoma whip-style antenna
  • WeatherTech front floor mats

Brakes / Suspension
  • Toyota Tundra front coils
  • OME 890 rear coils
  • Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks
  • Toyota Tundra brake caliper / rotor upgrade
  • Front differential drop / extended brake line to accommodate lift
  • Extended rear differential breather
  • Replaced lower ball joints with OEM Toyota replacements (4Runners of this generation were known for LBJ failures)
  • MOOG inner and outer tie rod ends / sway bar end links
  • Polyurethane bushings (sway bar bushings, steering rack bushings)

Exterior Protection / Recovery
  • ARB front bumper
  • Custom steel rear bumper
  • 4XInnovations weld-on rock sliders
  • Full skid plate set – front to back
  • Warn M8000 winch

Other
  • Flushed all fluids and filled with RedLine fluids
